Whistler has a busy winter and a busy summer, with quieter stretches between. If you are thinking about owning here, it helps to see all four seasons, and to know which part of the resort fits the way you would use a home. Dates below are from official sources and can change with weather and conditions.

Last checked October 29, 2026. General information, not legal, tax or financial advice. Talk to an accountant or lawyer about your own situation.

Golf

Tourism Whistler says Nicklaus North, Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club and Big Sky Golf Club in Pemberton, about 25 minutes north, operate. Whistler Golf Club is closed for renovations from September 1, 2025 to early summer 2027, though its range, shop and simulator stay open.

Weather

Tourism Whistler’s stats page gives valley averages of about −2°C high and −8°C low in January, and about 27°C high and 11°C low in July. A second Tourism Whistler page gives slightly different figures (January −1/−6, July 25/11), and neither names its station or period. This guide could not retrieve Environment Canada’s 1991–2020 normals, so treat these as approximate. The summit averages 1,040 cm of snowfall a year (10-year average).

The village layout

The Resort Municipality of Whistler’s community plan describes Whistler Village as the primary multi-use centre, established as the town centre in the 1976 plan, with the Upper Village treated as an extension. These are the main areas visitors and owners talk about:

The Valley Trail links the Village, Upper Village and Creekside, and runs from Function Junction to Emerald. Tourism Whistler lists the Village to Rainbow Park as about 6.4 km return. This guide found no official walking time between the Village and the Upper Village.
