Whistler Blackcomb is the reason most people come. Two mountains, joined by the Peak 2 Peak Gondola, make up one large lift-served ski area. Here are the numbers and the 2026–27 season basics.
2026–27 season
- Scheduled dates: Blackcomb Mountain opens November 20, 2026 and is scheduled to close May 16, 2027. Whistler Mountain, the PEAK 2 PEAK and the Creekside Gondola are scheduled for November 25, 2026 to April 18, 2027. All dates are subject to weather and conditions.
- New this year: a quad Showcase Chair replaces the Showcase T-Bar (access to Horstman and Blackcomb Glacier).
- Hours: lifts run 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. until January 15. The resort is cashless.
- Epic Pass: Whistler Blackcomb is owned by Vail Resorts and is covered by the Epic Pass. Prices change through the season, so check the pass page.

The resort says about three-quarters of Whistler and 70% of Blackcomb is beginner or intermediate terrain, so it is not only for experts. Whistler Mountain opened in 1966 and Blackcomb in 1980.
Cross-country and snowshoe
Whistler Olympic Park in the Callaghan Valley hosted Nordic events at the 2010 Games and has 55+ km of cross-country trails and 15 km of snowshoe trails, about 30 minutes south of the Village. The 2026–27 season is listed as November 27, 2026 to April 4, 2027, with free parking. In the valley, the Valley Trail is groomed for cross-country skiing on 3.8 km between Meadow Park and Rainbow Park when conditions allow.
Winter living tips
- Day-lot parking at the base is paid; overnight parking is banned November 1 to March 31 in the day lots. Lots 6 to 8 and the Creekside parkade are free. The resort says carpool details for 2026–27 are due later this fall.
- Winter tires are required on Highway 99, see Getting there.
- Weather: Village January averages are a high near −2°C and a low near −8°C.
